August’s most-played tracks from a chart-topping playlist

The open playlist “New tracks charting WW & Global Hits” keeps a running pulse on pop, hip-hop, and dance releases as they hit the charts — pulling from Spotify’s official charts, fresh drops, and whatever’s trending on TikTok and YouTube. With 154 tracks and roughly eight and a half hours of music on deck, here are five songs currently sitting near the top.

Leading the pack is “I Just Might” by Bruno Mars, a track that dropped back in January and still hasn’t lost momentum, thanks to his signature retro-funk sound.

Right behind it is “Stateside + Zara Larsson,” a team-up between PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson off the Fancy Some More? project. It’s an unexpectedly good fit — PinkPantheress’s hazy, lo-fi delivery pairs well against Larsson’s punchier, pop-forward vocals.

Harry Styles lands at No. 3 with “American Girls,” off Kiss All The Time, delivering his usual blend of ’80s-leaning nostalgia and modern guitar-pop polish.

Olivia Rodrigo’s “drop dead,” released this spring, keeps climbing — a sharp, jittery track that fits right into her established lane of teenage angst and biting sarcasm.

Rounding out the five is BTS’s “SWIM,” from the ARIRANG project, proof that both the group’s collective and solo work continue to hold their own with a global audience regardless of format.

Throw in “Bring Your Love” trailing right behind, and you’ve got a pretty accurate snapshot of what summer 2026 sounds like — somewhere between dancefloor pop and diary-entry songwriting.
