Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta will support a major new exhibition dedicated to Peggy Guggenheim, one of the most influential art collectors of the 20th century. Peggy Guggenheim in London: The Making of a Collector will open at the Royal Academy of Arts in London in November 2026.
The exhibition will explore a defining chapter in Guggenheim’s life — the years 1938–1939, when she founded the Guggenheim Jeune gallery in London. Although the gallery operated for less than a year, it became an important platform for introducing modern art to British audiences and played a crucial role in shaping Guggenheim’s future collection.
The exhibition will feature works by artists whose pieces were presented at Guggenheim Jeune, including Wassily Kandinsky, Salvador Dalí, Piet Mondrian, Barbara Hepworth, and Sophie Taeuber-Arp. Several works will return to London for the first time in decades, revisiting the city where they were originally shown in the late 1930s.
For Bottega Veneta, the partnership continues the house’s ongoing support of artistic and cultural initiatives around the world. The brand has consistently collaborated with leading museums and cultural institutions, highlighting the dialogue between craftsmanship, design, and contemporary culture.
Following its London presentation, the exhibition will travel to New York, where it will open at the Guggenheim Museum in spring 2027.
