The project will be the first of its kind in the region
Dubai authorities have announced plans for the Museum of Digital Art (MODA), the Middle East’s first permanent museum dedicated to digital art. According to Hypebeast Arabia, the new institution — focused on digital creativity and emerging technologies — will be located in the expanded DIFC Zabeel District, part of Dubai’s financial center.
The five-story building was designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the firm behind the Burj Khalifa. The museum will house immersive exhibition spaces, educational programming, and research facilities aimed at supporting young digital artists.
One of MODA’s standout features will be its “digital twin” — a virtual platform that lets visitors from anywhere in the world explore the museum’s exhibitions remotely. The project is being led by the DIFC Authority, with support from Dubai’s Department of Culture and Arts.
