A24 has dropped the full trailer for Marty Supreme, Josh Safdie’s latest film starring Timothée Chalamet. The story follows a young athlete chasing greatness in table tennis, and it’s set to hit theaters worldwide on December 25, 2025.
Marty Supreme follows the story of Marty Mauser, an ambitious athlete played by Chalamet, set against the backdrop of 1950s America. Mauser is determined to become the best in a sport most people around him dismiss as trivial. The trailer shows him pushing through doubt, family skepticism, and outside criticism, clawing his way up from nothing in pursuit of a goal that never comes easy. The character draws loose inspiration from real-life table tennis champion Marty Reisman, though the studio has been clear the film isn’t a biopic — it’s being positioned as a fictional sports drama.
The cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Tyler, the Creator, Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Abel Ferrara, and others. It marks the first time director Josh Safdie has worked solo on a feature, after building his reputation alongside brother Benny on films like Uncut Gems.
The film’s teaser, released by the studio two months ago, has already racked up 17 million views — a strong early signal of just how much anticipation is building around this one.
